Empathy is the foundation for shaping a better ``future generation``
The common area designed for middle school students aims to accommodate 48 children—8 of whom use wheelchairs—in a way that allows them not only to meet their daily needs comfortably, but also to strengthen their social relationships. The space is envisioned as a place where students can feel at home, within a continuous and inclusive atmosphere of communication. It offers a peaceful environment where children can enjoy daylight during the day, watch the stars at night, and even work to the sound of rain.
”We designed, they organized”
The spaces, designed with modular furniture and storable seating units, allow children to adapt them according to their needs. This approach fosters an awareness of their own requirements and empowers them to develop creative solutions.
For poufs, which cater to activities such as watching movies at night or both group and individual work, more ‘soothing’ color tones were chosen.
In contrast, ‘warmer’ hues were preferred for seating units intended to nurture social interactions.
